Content:

The pet panel can be accessed by moving the mouse to the lower left of the screen.
It will pop out from there.

Pet panel

If you move your mouse away, the panel will disappear.
If you don't want that to happen you can click on the pin (top left) to make sure it stays on screen.

List

A list of all your pets can be seen on this panel, you can have up to 5 maximum
Each one is displayed with the pets current action, and if the pet is pernemant then the pets icon on the top left too
Also displayed at the top left is the pets level

Next to these on the right is the pets name and description of what they are doing (eg. Horse - Follow: You)

Actions

At the bottom of the panel are several action icons used for controlling each of your pets
To perform an action first select the pet you wish to command
Next select from the possible actions (unavailable actions will be shaded out)

Actions (in order of left to right, top to bottom):
+Follow - After selecting this click on a player or monster in the world - the pet will follow them
+Scout - The pet will stay a distance ahead of your current position - useful for radar
+Stop - Stops what they are currently doing, they will wait on the spot
+Wonder - Allows the pet to wonder around of their own free will
+Attack - After selecting this click on a player or monster in the world - the pet will attack them
+Defend - After selecting this click on a player or monster in the world - the pet will attack anything that attacks them

Gaining a pet

You can either get a pet by:
+Purchasing one from a merchant (they are pernament and remain with you where ever you go)
+Casting a spell or taming a wild monster (they will remain under your control for a while or until you leave the map)
NOTE: Only pernament pets are currently implemented in game

Leveling a pet

Some NPCs will level your pet for a price, this will make them stronger and faster

Losing a pet

You can lose a pernament pet by any of these ways
+Killing it yourself
+A monster killing it
+Another player killing it (PvP areas ONLY)

If outside of a PvP area the pet will respawn automaticly if killed by another player

Misc

If you can't see your pet, you may be on a map where pets are disabled (most inside areas)
